Yardong Family came to Bali and stayed as VIP guests at Westin Hotel Nusa Dua. Planned to have vacation, they also wanted to have family photo shoot in Westin Hotel. Two mothers with each one daughter of theirs asked to Dede Permana in sales department to look for available photographer. By little negotiation, we had a deal to take one hour photo shoots around Westin (garden and beach area).
My team and I arrived at the promised location 15 minutes earlier. After having a little chit chat, we do the photo shoot from the garden area.
Cute Children And How We Capture Them
They wanted us to focus more on their two daughters. Thus we started to joke and play with them while taking their photos. Surely we did candid shoot to get the children’s expression for the family photo.
The difficulty of do shooting with children was the approach which is different from what we usually do with adults. We had to blend in with them and tried not to scare them because we actually were new people for them. Strangers.
So once a while I tried to laughed together with them without giving some directions and kept stand by capturing every moment and expression from those two little girls. Sometimes we lied down on the grass to get perfect angle.
Beach Session
After garden session was done, we went to the beach. We asked the children to play with the sand and we also got some help from their mothers to direct them. So it looked like they played the sand happily with their mothers.
One hour felt like one minute for this family photo shoot, thus we end our photo session. The children seemed tired and wanted to take some rest. After transferring the files, we went home. Before that we didn’t forget to thank Dede Permana that recommended us as family photographer at that time.
